Definition

The ask price is the lowest price at which a seller is willing to sell a currency or asset. In forex investing, it is the price you pay when you buy a currency pair. The difference between the ask and the bid price is known as the spread.

Example in context

If EUR/USD is quoted as 1.0849 / 1.0851, the ask price is 1.0851 — the price you pay to buy euros.
